Living with back pain changes everything. Getting out of bed feels like a chore. Sitting through dinner at Centennial Bar & Grille becomes uncomfortable. Even walking along the lake near Big Bay Park turns into something you dread instead of enjoy.
If you’re a Whitefish Bay resident dealing with back pain, Yentz Family Chiropractic is just a short drive up I-43. Our Germantown office has helped hundreds of Milwaukee-area patients get back to their normal lives without relying on pain medications or invasive procedures.
We’re not your typical crack-and-go chiropractor. Dr. Karl Yentz, Dr. Destiny Laplander, and Dr. Zach Heipel take a different approach.
Here’s what makes us different:
We actually find the root cause. Most back pain stems from spinal misalignments that have built up over months or years. We use X-rays and thorough exams to pinpoint exactly what’s happening in your spine.
We focus on correction, not just temporary fixes. You won’t need to come in three times a week forever. Our goal is to fix the problem so you need us less over time.
We look at the whole picture. Back pain rarely exists in isolation. Sleep, stress, posture at your desk job downtown, even nutrition plays a role. We address all of it.
Back pain shows up differently for everyone. Some Whitefish Bay patients come in with a dull ache that never goes away. Others have sharp, shooting pain that stops them mid-step.
Common causes we see include:
Subluxations are misalignments in your spine that put pressure on nerves. You might not even remember when it started. Maybe it was that fender bender on Silver Spring Drive years ago. Maybe it’s from hunching over a laptop during long workdays.
Herniated discs happen when the cushioning between your vertebrae pushes out and irritates nearby nerves. This often causes pain that radiates down into your legs.
Muscle imbalances develop when you sit too much, stand with poor posture, or favor one side of your body. Over time, some muscles get tight while others weaken.
Sciatica sends pain shooting down from your lower back through your buttocks and legs. It’s often one of the most intense types of back pain people experience.
Your first appointment takes about an hour. Here’s how it works:
You’ll sit down with one of our doctors and talk through your history. When did the pain start? What makes it worse? What have you already tried? We want the full picture.
Then we do a hands-on exam. We check your posture, range of motion, and feel for areas of tension or misalignment along your spine.
Most new patients get X-rays. This isn’t about running up a bill. We genuinely need to see what’s happening inside your spine to create a plan that works.
After reviewing everything, your doctor will explain exactly what they found and map out a treatment plan. No pressure. No scare tactics. Just straight talk about what’s going on and how we can help.
New patients pay just $57 for the initial consultation, exam, and X-rays.
Whitefish Bay has a pace to it. Morning jogs along Lake Michigan. Weekend errands on Silver Spring. Chasing kids around Klode Park. Back pain makes all of it harder than it needs to be.
We’re about 20 minutes from Whitefish Bay, right off Mequon Road in Germantown. Many of our patients drive in from the North Shore suburbs because they’ve heard about our results from friends or family members we’ve helped.
Plus, we work with your schedule. Early morning appointments start at 6:45 AM on Wednesdays. Can’t make it until after work? We’re open until 6:00 PM most weekdays.
Back pain doesn’t have to run your life. Whether you’ve been dealing with it for three weeks or three years, there’s a path forward.
Call us at (262) 293-9098 or fill out the appointment form on our website. We’ll get you in quickly and start figuring out what’s really going on with your back.
How long does it take to see results from chiropractic care for back pain? It depends on what’s causing your pain and how long you’ve had it. Some patients feel relief after their first adjustment. Others with more complex issues need several weeks of care before noticing significant changes. We’ll give you realistic expectations after your exam.
Do I need a referral from my doctor to see a chiropractor? No referral needed. You can schedule directly with us. If you have imaging or records from another doctor, bring them along, but it’s not required.
Is chiropractic care safe for older adults with back pain? Absolutely. We adjust our techniques based on each patient’s age, condition, and comfort level. Many of our Whitefish Bay-area patients are seniors who’ve found relief they couldn’t get elsewhere.
Will my insurance cover chiropractic treatment? Most insurance plans include some chiropractic coverage. Call our office and we’ll verify your benefits before your first visit so there are no surprises.
What if my back pain is from a recent car accident? We see a lot of auto accident cases. Document everything, and come in as soon as possible. Waiting often makes injuries harder to treat. We can also work with auto insurance claims.
